I'm (almost) unashamedly partial to milk chocolate and caramels, though I get your kind of smile from many French people for it!

These Budapest posts have been just heavenly. Thank you.

Lucy: I want to make clear that I know there might well be a specially paved road to hell for people like me. And that I don't want to be people like me, or like the French people who make you feel like that. Rome is where I got the greatest sneers for my latte habit.

And also, that I now have an intense wish to make you caramels, and cut them into squares, and sprinkle them with the sparsest veil of good salt, and wrap them up in the nicest paper I have here, and send them to you. I make *really* good ones.

I always knew there was salt in good caramel, and even in some milk chocolate, though couldn't ever prove it. Here the best caramels have sel de Guerande in them. I'd love to taste your caramels!

I look forward to the day these caramels can leave the land of the virtual!
