Our resident squirrel was digging in the terrace planter yesterday when J. spotted him and rushed out, making himself very LARGE and SCARY. Squirrel dove into hedge, then crossed road through traffic. I hear they make excellent pies but though I've eaten woodchuck (marmot) I've never tried park rat, er, squirrel.

I like to think of J. doing that...

There's something about the expressions on the faces of the squirrels in my neighbourhood in response to "very LARGE and SCARY," that says "funny you think that works. I'll humour you for now, but we both know how this is going to turn out." And, well, they're right: I do.
